Job description

As a Track Geometry Engineer, you’ll join the Technology department that plays a pivotal role in developing and delivering products and services to our clients. With a focus on gathering, processing, analysing and presenting railway condition data, we oversee the entire lifecycle of products and services. From research and development to implementation and maintenance. Our expertise spans railway design and quality parameters, and various measurement techniques such as inertia, laser profiling, axle box acceleration, ultrasonic, eddy current, video and localisation. Track Geometry concerns deviations in track layout, such as height, alignment, cant and gauge. Working alongside a team of 15 colleagues, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of existing measurement systems
  • Renewing, improving, and implementing measurement systems
  • Technical and functional specification of measurement systems
  • Resolving operational problems concerning technology and/or data
  • Providing technical guidance to colleagues from our production department
  • Proposing and contributing to internal projects, initiatives, and process improvements
  • Building and maintaining knowledge about railway design and quality parameters

Qualifications

  • Technical background with an academic degree or equivalent working experience, preferably in a discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics
  • 0 – 7 years of relevant working experience, e.g. in technical product development or data engineering/data science
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written; fluency in Dutch is a bonus
  • Energetic and able to communicate effectively with colleagues, suppliers and clients
  • Naturally curious and analytical, with a desire to understand complexity thoroughly
  • Creative and resourceful, capable of exploring various approaches to achieve goals
  • Organised and capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Gross annual salary up to € 77.000 (incl. 8% holiday pay), depending on your knowledge and experience
